GABY
BREED: Lab Mix
GENDER: Female
APPROX AGE: 5 months old
SIZE:
HISTORY: Gaby was rescued from a garbage pile in Zona Romantica in Puerto Vallarta. The person who rescued her was leaving town the next day, but it simply didn't matter, he just couldn't leave her. With little time before his departure, he picked up the pup and tried to figure out what to do. Gaby charmed all of the people who've met her and none of us can understand how a sweet soul like this could have been discarded.
TEMPERAMENT: Very sweet and playful.

DIXIE 2
BREED: Chihuahua
GENDER: Female
APPROX AGE: 2 years old
SIZE: 5 lbs
HISTORY: Dixie was found roaming the streets of Tijuana, Mexico, hungry and very, very scared.
TEMPERAMENT: Dixie is a tiny dog who is very shy with strangers, but as soon as she finds out that you are not going to hurt her, then she is all over you. She is definitely a lap doggie and a great companion to other small dog.

CHLOE 2
BREED: Chihuahua mix
GENDER: Female
APPROX AGE: 1 year old
SIZE: 6 1/2 lbs
HISTORY: Chloe was found roaming the street of Tijuana, Mexico, homeless, starving, very frightened, and at only 8 months old, pregnant.
TEMPERAMENT: Chloe is shy of new people but becoming less uncertain each day. Chloe is a darling little dog that wouldn't hurt a fly or try to bite anyone. She warms up quickly.

SISSY
BREED: Terrier Mix
GENDER: Female
APPROX AGE: 4 years old
SIZE: 18 lbs
HISTORY: Sissy was abandoned on the streets of Puerto Vallarta to fend for herself. She was picked up and taken to the city pound. That is not good news since those animals are in line to get euthanized rather quickly and often not in a humane way, Mexico uses electrocution. A volunteer happened to see her and saw what a lovely and sweet dog she is and took her out. She was then taken in by a foster home until SPCA agreed to take her under their wing to find her a good home. R-mar director was in Puerto Vallarta working with local rescue groups and Sissy was one of six chosen to fly back with her.
TEMPERAMENT: Very sweet, loves lots of cuddles and to sit on your lap. Good with other dogs.

RICKY 3
BREED: Chihuahua
GENDER: Male
APPROX AGE: 12 weeks old
SIZE: 3 1/2 lbs
HISTORY: Little Ricky was abandoned at one of the dumping grounds in Tijuana, left to survive among 60 dogs where food doesn't come most of the time. Lucky Ricky was rescued two days later, he was not going to survive that environment... most don't make it.
TEMPERAMENT: Ricky is a happy little guy always wagging his tail, not trusting humans very much yet, but once on your lap he melts. Sweet as can be, very playful and active.

PIPPA
BREED: Jack Russell / Chihuahua mix
GENDER: Female
APPROX AGE: 4-5 years old
SIZE: Small
HISTORY: Pippa was pulled from a high-kill shelter in Los Angeles. A volunteer adopted her out to get her to safety.
TEMPERAMENT: Pippa is a young lady who has lots to offer. She is an alert guard dog who loves to go out for walks. She is leash trained and loves the outside. She is fully house and crate trained. Pippa is a dog that can be left alone if her owners are working full time and will greet you with a wagging tail upon your return. She was not properly socialized by her original owners but now after being in foster care she knows commands and boundries. She can do basic tricks and is eager to learn. For those who do not want the hassles of house training a puppy, this young lady has a full life of love to offer. She loves to cuddle and snuggle in your lap and will make a great apartment dog. She is good with other dogs and cats and loves to meet new people on walks. A good mouser. Not recommended with adopter's with children due to her independent streak.

WILLY
BREED: Chihuahua
GENDER: Male
APPROX AGE: 6-8 years old
SIZE: 7 lbs
HISTORY: Willy was found in the streets of LA and brought to a very overcrowded high-kill "shelter". William's past was rough and then his future looked even bleaker. Suddenly things began to look up! A loving soul saw how sweet William was and took him to safety. William is safe, but what he really dreams of is someone of his own to love and care for him, someone who will offer him the comfort and safety that he deserves for the rest of his life.
TEMPERAMENT: Willy is a very happy dog and his favourite place to be is with his people; he loves to cuddle in bed and will always seek out your lap. Willy hates being left out and will come running if he thinks he is missing out on something or another pet is getting all the attention! He gets along well with other dogs in his pack, is toilet trained, loves his walks, and rides well in the car. Willy is fear-reactive to children, strangers, and unknown dogs. He cannot be placed in a home with children and we are currently working on his socialization; he responds very well to those who are patient enough to allow him to come to them. At times, he will mark in the house when confronted with new situations. Willy responds best to a structured and quiet adult-only home and requires patience and tenderness from his caregiver. Despite some issues we are working on, Willy is progressing daily and is a sweet older gentleman who has many wonderful years ahead of him; he is a loving companion who is waiting for the right person to take him home.

FRANKY
BREED: Miniature Poodle mix
GENDER: Male
APPROX AGE: 5 years old
SIZE: 12 lbs
HISTORY: Franky's story is a sad one. He was bought as a puppy for a teenager who moved away and left Franky behind at his parents house. The mother did not want Franky so she confined him to a bird cage! There he stayed for many months with very little movement and no contact with humans. One day the mother decided the dog had to go and ordered another family member to get rid of him by abandoning him in some isolated area of town!! This young girl did not have the heart to dump him so she sought help and found Animal Advocates in California who coordinated the transport R-mar. Being a poodle with ongoing growing fur, his fur was severely matted infested with fleas crawling all over. The water of his first bath came out bloody from the huge amount of flea feces. (don't worry, no fleas now!). His rescue took place November 11, 2011.
TEMPERAMENT: The first couple of days he was extremely reserved and scared of everything. He is starting to blossom and now loves company and play. He is cat friendly, housebroken and has the cutest underbite.

- Upon arrival in Canada, dogs can be transported to adopter's city if adopter wishes to make transport arrangements and pay additional transport costs.
