Dogs Without Borders

Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue believes that all dogs and cats (and all animals) deserve to live without starvation and parasites, out of the freezing and barren cold, into a loving home. A dog's life has the same inherent value, regardless of where he or she comes from. R-mar helps other rescuers, desperate for help in foreign countries, as well as rescue groups here in Canada. We try to rescue and adopt out as many as we can, wherever they are, all the while putting Puppy Mills, backyard breeders, and irresponsible pet owners who don't get their pets spayed and neutered, out of business.

It takes many volunteers, coordination, administration, cleaning, driving, training, patience and funding. If you are interested in contributing there are many options. Not only do dogs and cats come from all over the world, the rescuers and volunteers are also an international team. R-mar staff has worked with other caring individuals while on holiday with people from Mexico, Guatemala, Thailand, Cuba, and the USA.

R-mar is involved in a global effort of many individuals working tirelessly to save as many animals from suffering as possible. Our main contribution is the rescue of dogs. Most of the small dogs are rescued from mexico (since Canada has few small dogs for adoption in animal shelters) and transported to Canada into incredible loving homes, and medium and large dogs rescued from the local Reserve Morley near Calgary.

We want to expose the ghastly dog meat market in the Philippines and provide information about fur-lined clothing (such as hoodies) to encourage consumers to stop buying jackets with hood fur trim! BUY ONLY IN STORES THAT ARE CRUELTY FREE! Stand up for animals by speaking up!

On the brightside, view our Happy Tail Endings to see why rescue and adoption is so worthwhile, and see dogs for adoption:
