All of these positions would be out of your home or office. You can live anywhere being we communicate regularly by email and phone to complete programs and projects.
All these positions will save lives, many highly adoptable pets are waiting to be pulled from high-kill shelters, shocking Mexican pounds and the streets before 'round-up' occurs. The criteria for each position are highly responsible, multi-task, dedicated, team-oriented volunteers who will be given the responsibility for many small projects by the director as the need comes up.
We are growing very faster than expected, and more and more people are contacting Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue about dogs and cats in desperate situations in Canada, the U.S., Mexico, and around the world. These volunteers also need help in order to help the animals. If there is nowhere for the pets to go, they can't save them. Hence, a big reason for helping dogs in Mexico. It's a desperate situation, and people need to help one another around the world. For people finding homeless pets and wanting to help the with the terrible situation, and having nowhere for them to go, its a highly distressing, depressing, and frantic situation. That's where R-mar comes in.
Our goal is to help as many dogs and cats as possible from desperate situations and into loving homes. Ideally, Rocky Mountain Animal Rescue would be able to post on the website and transport dogs and cats to loving homes around Canada, and at the same time, help shut down puppymills, backyard breeders, petstores like Petland that buy from puppymills, and hoarders, and sled dog operations that are frequently abandoning their dogs, all people exploiting animals and causing immense cruelty and endless suffering. |

To VOLUNTEER:
We are always looking for volunteers! Volunteering is rewarding and enjoyable work because you are working for a great cause. Here are a few areas in which we need help:
Volunteering - Short term projects and help of all kinds are regularly needed such as administrative help with phone calls to airlines or pet supply companies, bathing the pets, basic training walking on leash and teaching sit and stay, folding dog bedding, making litter boxes, fixing gates or fences, stacking and selling kennels, lawn and yard maintenance, gardening, coordinating events, etc.

Dog Walking and Hiking Adventures - Need a four-legged walking or jogging partner? We know plenty who are just itching to stretch their legs! View doggie hike photos...
Fostering - Fostering if often needed on short term notice for a week or two. Immediate refuge is also often needed for dog and puppies that have a cold or similar sickness that is contagious to other dogs, or recovering from an injury. Temperary care and placement into a home without a dog is very appreciated. Also, fostering for a short or long term stay for a homeless cat or dog provides santuary for one that would otherwise be left a starving stray or euthanized in overcrowded kill shelters. Your compassion will also help them become more socialized and better trained, and they will repay with many kisses and looks of gratitude for your companionship and shelter.
