Rescuing dogs from the Pound Latest

Laura Sandoval founded United Hope for Animals (UHA) after witnessing the cruelty of homelessness, starvation and electrocution in the Tijuana Pound and streets. Laura travels from California to Mexico to go to this horrible Pound, where the dogs are not fed or given water and killed in front of each other, to rescue as many dogs as possible.

In partnership with UHA, R-mar transports mostly chihuahua mixes and small dogs from this area to Canada, however, other dogs can get a chance to live if an adopter or someone wanting to financially sponsor a dog(s) will help. A sponsor or adopter will make a big difference to both the animal and UHA, which is run by a small amount of highly dedicated volunteers in California and Tijuana. The organization is mostly funded by the staff and volunteers themselves who have far less than most Canadians, not to mention the huge sacrifice of time and effort that is rarely noticed.

These disturbing images were taken by UHA during one of their rescue missions. Most of the little chihuahuas rescued and adopted from Canada are from here. Please see the Happy Endings section on our Adoption page to see the little ones saved from the perrera or "hotel" and now in loving homes.
