Fatafeet (Adoption Pending)

BREED: Labrador mix
GENDER: Female
AGE: Approx 6 years old
SIZE/WEIGHT: Medium
HISTORY: We first came to know about her, when someone called us saying two dogs are coming into their land and pooping around the land and they want them out or they will shoot them. We went to find that one of them gave birth and they are both terrified dogs so it was impossible to catch them peacefully. The people accepted to give us a couple of days to gain their trust but that didn’t help, we had to do trick them to be able to catch them and take them to the vet. Fatafeet has twisted arms, deformed, which was believed that she was hit by a car at a young age with no treatment, causing them to develop in a deformed way. What was surprising is that the other dog who gave birth we believe to be Fatafeet’s mom, was blind and was in bad shape. Fatafeet was taking care of her and guiding her around the streets. It took us a really long time to break the fear they were in. Thankfully Fatafeet now allows me to touch her, she even comes by herself to me to pet her, she has a long way to go, but she has come a long way from where she was, she is starting to trust people again, to have faith in humanity once again, she needs a patient family with free time to show her that they are their for good. Trust is the main thing adopters need to work on.
TEMPERAMENT: Fearful, can growl if she feels threatened.
PERSONALITY: Fearful at first until she starts trusting.
HOW IS DOG WITH SMALL DOGS: She can be a bit dominant with other dogs, but she usually avoids interacting with new dogs until she is comfortable around them, needs to be properly introduced.
HOW IS DOG WITH CATS: Never tried her yet.
HOW IS DOG WITH CHILDREN: She is okay with having kids around her, but doesn’t really interacts with them.
MEDICAL CONCERNS/CONDITION OF TEETH: Her twisted arm was checked by the vet and doesn’t cause her any pain or issues for the time being. Teeth are okay.
BEST MATCH: Someone who has space (fenced backyard) for her to feel free to roam around and time to work on her trusting them.
SPECIAL NOTES (If any): She is still in Lebanon, once we find her the right family, we will work on getting her to Canada.
