Harper

BREED: Shepherd mix
GENDER: Female
AGE: 1 to 1.5 years old
SIZE & WEIGHT: Medium
TEMPERAMENT: Harper has a middle ranking amongst other dogs and has a very calm disposition. She is very friendly and loves people yet shy around new people, strange places and new dogs. Actually she just needs more socialization each day so she becomes more comfortable being she was a homeless Stray before and had never been an indoor pet. She sensitive and sweet and a keen and fast learner, enjoys being trained and rewarded for a job well done. Best to use reward based training with her with food combined with affection so she learns what we want of her. Be careful not to use too much affection as opposed to using it as a reward.
PERSONALITY: Harper has a friendly personality can be shy in new places, she just needs more socialization as days go by. She can be a little shy at first but coming out of her shell. She is naturally easy-going. She does well in the house and likes to go out for a walk’s frequently. She enjoys hikes but could be a little nervous when meeting new dogs and needs to be off leash more often at dog parks so she realize dogs are friendly and they’re not going to hurt her.
HOW IS PET WITH CATS: Unsure.
HOW IS PET WITH DOGS: Great.
HOW ID PET WITH KIDS: Good.
BEST MATCH: Harper needs an adopter to follow up on more of her basics that she’s already receiving from her foster mom. She needs to see more of the world and socialize with car rides, trips to the dog park frequently, and other outings and basic experience with life. And Adopter? to continue to train her to the rules and boundaries. For never had the enjoyment of toys, other dogs to play with since she was always searching for food, but as time goes on she will learn to relax and probably love playing with toys and new dogs she has not yet met, but it’s best not on leashes since leashes tend to make dogs feel stressed out since they can’t get away.
FAVORITE THINGS: Being with people she loves, feeling secure, receiving praise when being trained and going out for walks around town and to the park and dog park.
