Loki (ADOPTED!!)

BREED: Mini Australian Shepherd
GENDER: Male
AGE: 2 years old (born May 27, 2018)
SIZE/WEIGHT: Medium 30-35lbs
HISTORY: Surrender, owner moved. Surrender also due to Loki being too much of a guard dog in the house. He needs leadership, an adopter to teach him its not his house to guard…to go lay down. He was being too protective of guests coming into previous owners home. We are working with that now at the Rescue Centre so he learns it not his place to guard, its the humans.
TEMPERAMENT: Energetic, curious.
PERSONALITY: High energy, sweet, smart, loves to cuddle and play. Likes laying outside soaking up the sun and running and playing with other playful dogs.
BEST MATCH: Active people, someone with property, has time for basic training. Interested in continuing with his basic obedience (he knows a fair amount already), adopter who has interest in agility classes. Loki can jump! We do not recommend with children since he was surrendered for being too much of a guard dog in the house. Needs someone home a lot. An experienced dog owner with frisky, playful, young, determined dogs. He needs leadership adopter to teach him its not his house to guard…to go lay down. Someone that hikes a lot would be ideal. Even a horse ranch, running along side adventures.
NEEDS: More leash work, socialization around new dogs and places. Basic obedience since he’s really smart and needs brain work, not just exercise. Needs a leader, he was spoiled due to previous owner not setting up any rules and boundaries. He’s now learning to be more patient as well as learning to deal with frustration (not doing and getting everything he wants! 🙂 He has to learn to work for things, he needs guidance. Super smart so needs adopter who would like to challenge him physically and mentally.
FAVORITE THINGS: Balls, squeaky toys playing tug a war. Running, playing. Loki needs a leader type adopter, no push overs. He needs someone that is firm and fair, can challenge him with new things, get him out to run.
