BREED: Indigenous Iranian Herding Dog
SEX: Female
APPROX. AGE: 1 year old
SIZE: Medium-Large
HISTORY: Sanka was found in the dessert at 2 months old and has lived in a shelter in Iran ever since. She has been in Canada for a few weeks and is building up her confidence with her foster family.
TEMPERAMENT: Sanka’s fosters say she is a very sweet girl! She can be very shy, timid and nervous of dogs when she first meets them but adjusts quickly and is doing great with her fursibling in her foster home. Sanka is still learning to walk on a leash, as she can become very overwhelmed and fearful of all the noises outside, and is still working on learning recall. Sanka loves being around her humans, and has no problem settling in her crate.
BEST MATCH: A home with a big fenced backyard and a calm and loving family with lots of patience to help her come out of her shell and make her feel safe. She would do well with another dog friend to show her the ropes.
FAVOURITE THINGS: Soft toys, backyard runs and lots of love.
