HISTORY: Basbousa is a rescued cat found on the street in Saudi Arabia on her own and in bad shape, scared, lonely, skinny and hungry in a dangerous area for cats and dogs. She appeared very frightened, and from her behaviour, I believed she may previously have lived in a home and then been abandoned. Many cats like her are abandoned in this area after buying from breeder and they’re not kittens any longer. They are just dumped onto the street, same as many purebred dogs. Basbousa has no tail. She was already without a tail when we rescued her, and we do not know whether it was surgically removed before her rescue or whether she was born without one.
TEMPERAMENT: Basbousa is very loving, gentle, affectionate, and calm. She can be quite fearful, especially around other cats, but she is very sweet and trusting with people. She loves being close to people and enjoys cuddling. She’s an amazing cat, like many cats are 🙂
PERSONALITY: Basbousa is a very affectionate and people-oriented cat. She loves cuddling, sleeping beside people, and spending time playing and interacting with them.
PETS NEEDS/BEHAVIOURAL INFO: Basbousa uses the litter box. She is very fearful of other cats and has not been able to adjust to living with them, so she is currently kept in a separate area of our home where she feels safer.
BEST MATCH: A calm, loving home where Basbousa can receive plenty of affection and human companionship. A patient home that understands she can initially be fearful would be ideal for her.
FAVORITE THINGS: Cuddling, sleeping beside people, playing with people, and receiving affection. She would enjoy chasing the cat toy fishing pole with the feather toy on the end.
