Tom

BREED: Lab mix
GENDER: Male
AGE: 1.5 year as of April 2025
SIZE/WEIGHT: Large, 90 lbs.
HISTORY: Was a homeless pup found along Highway on Reserve. Picked up at 3.5 months of age and went to local pound. They took him out for a walk when could but he got little attention and was a loving puppy and really wanted to be with people. No one came into the city pound and met and adopted him. He ended up living in shelter cage for 1 year. Tom was scared in the shelter since he didn’t have a home, he lived with other dogs needing one, and he was one of many needing attention but little time staff had for him and his cage-mates. Tom was then transported to us so he would get the opportunity for adopters to meet him and give him a home. He so deserves it. He’s such a sweet boy!
PERSONALITY: Tom is an easy going big boy. He acts so studious, yet so goofy. He has many different personalities, he’s funny, fun, loving, playful, joyful, and appreciates his temporary home with his wonderful fosterers. He gets the opportunity to go parks, lakes which he Loves. Hikes, outings, and hanging out with them at home enjoying someone who cares about him. He’s so happy now! What a handsome sweet boy!
TEMPERAMENT: Tom was fine with our cats, puppies, little dogs, all the dogs he met. He gets anxious if can’t meet some on leash but mostly really good walking. He was fine in both our care and his foster family with other dogs. He’s a big love bug:)
PETS NEEDS/BEHAVIOURAL INFO: On-going socialization with many dogs since he only met the ones at the shelter the year he lived there. More experiences out and about in the world going where pet adopters go. We should recommend continual socialization as he grows and gets older so other dogs are also fine with him when they meet. Socialization daily is the key. And exercise running!
BEST MATCH: Someone with outdoorsy lifestyle so he can continue to go to lakes, hiking, to streams, and dog parks to run and explore. He Loves the water!
FAVORITE THINGS: Lake and rivers! Playing ball with someone. Going for walks and runs. Hanging out inside with people who love and care for him a comfy dog bed. He’s so happy to get one! And some belly rubes!
