Sandy (Adoption Pending)

BREED: Shepherd Mix
GENDER: Female
AGE: 4 Months old
SIZE/WEIGHT: Medium when full grown
HISTORY: Sandy was first spotted with her mother and 2 siblings at the highway divider near Morley. Soon after her mother and sister were picked up by one of our volunteers but they were unable to locate her and her brother. After 3 days they were found and picked up by our volunteers and they were reunited with their mother at one of our foster homes. She was quite fearful when she first arrived and would not leave her mothers side. She started to become more confident after a few days but is still quite scared of leaving her mother.
TEMPERAMENT: She is calm, gentle and quite affectionate once she feels comfortable with you but is still a little shy with new people.
PERSONALITY: Sandy, despite her rough start, is the sweetest little pup. She keeps to herself majority of the time but when she wants cuddles she will show it. She is also not afraid to let her presence be known. As she has become more comfortable she has also let her voice show and she is not afraid to play with the big dogs.
HOW IS DOG WITH CATS, KIDS, OTHER ANIMALS: She was a little fearful of the dogs that live in the foster home but quickly warmed up to them. She is curious about cats but keeps her distance and she is very gentle with people.
PETS NEEDS/BEHAVIOURAL INFO: No known behavioural issues.
BEST MATCH: A home that can give her lots of exercise attention and training. Her mother is quite a high energy dog so I can assume she will be as well. She is also quite intelligent and needs to be able to use it in a positive way through training, puzzles or other activities.
FAVORITE THINGS: She loves her treats and is highly food motivated.
